English 12 helps students learn work-related language arts skills. Students practice business writing, public speaking and reading for content.
AP English Literature and Composition engages students in the careful reading and critical analysis of imaginative literature. Through the close reading of selected texts, students will deepen their understanding of the ways writers use language to provide both meaning and pleasure for their readers. Students will develop an appreciation of literature and be able to write accurately and insightfully about it. In addition, students will complete a senior project, which includes: research, critical analysis, a community presentation and community service. Finally, students will prepare a portfolio of their high school achievements; porfolios will include life skills, academic skills and selected, polished writings.
