Career Pathways: 1, 2, 3 Prerequisite: Intro to Comp
This course will be divided into two distinct sections. In Term A students will learn graphic design elements and how to create and print electronic publications. Students will learn how to create web pages and web sites using Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML). Students will complete learning assignments and complete projects to be posted on the web. Students will also use a HTML editor. In addition, students will learn how to manipulate photographs and pictures using an image editor. In Term B students will learn to add interactivity and motion to web pages using a multimedia authoring program and then capture images and video using scanners, digital cameras, and DV camcorders. Students will edit images and video using a non-linear editing program.

Course Objective: Students will improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills while learning to identify and comprehend literary genres and elements. Nurturing a genuine interest in literature and personal expression will enable the student to view the English language as an instrument of communication and reflection. Students are expected to achieve a level of competency in areas of study enabling movement to the next course level, as well as, an understanding of the role and importance of these skills in society.
- This course covers a number of topics that will enhance the student's ability to successfully use a varity of computer applications both as an individual and in collaboration with members of a group. Topics covered include Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access), PhotoStory, Internet searches using Google, website evaluation, Google Docs, Internet Safety, computer history, computer vocabulary, image editing, podcasts, and web page creation.
