AP Comparative Government
This course is designed to provide you with an analytical perspective on government and politics in both the United States and comparative politics through the study of six core countries (Great Britain, China, Russia, Iran, Nigeria, and Mexico). Events throughout the world now directly impact our lives and we must be able to interpret and critically evaluate the global challenges we are currently facing. We will explore both reasons and methods for comparison, and examine numerous political issues and themes to be contrasted. Through comparison, this class will help you to understand the similarities and differences among some of the world’s modern political systems. You will be asked to evaluate a variety of sources to not only enhance your knowledge of comparative government and politics, but also so you may take that knowledge and produce your own informed opinions and analysis.
